I recommend bringing a good selection, especially if you’re not yet sure what works best for you.\u003cbr\u003eAs a general guide, yarn should be no thicker than what would fit a \u003cspan class=\"font-semibold\" data-streamdown=\"strong\"\u003e4 mm knitting needle\u003c\/span\u003e, although thicker yarn can sometimes work too, it really depends on how fluffy it is.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe quality of the yarn doesn’t matter too much, and part of the process is discovering what you like best and what works well with the technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf this is your first time tufting, I recommend choosing a design that isn’t too detailed.\u003cbr\u003eA size around \u003cspan class=\"font-semibold\" data-streamdown=\"strong\"\u003eA4\u003c\/span\u003e is a good starting point, and \u003cspan class=\"font-semibold\" data-streamdown=\"strong\"\u003eA3\u003c\/span\u003e can also work if the design is fairly simple. If you’d like to bring home a finished result on the day, keeping the design manageable is a good idea.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHow far you get during the workshop will naturally depend on your pace, your process, and how quickly you work. Tufting can also be a little physically demanding the first time, and you may need to rest your arms now and then, that’s completely normal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you have a small pair of scissors at home, feel free to bring them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI’m also very happy to help with your design if needed, but you’re welcome to sketch something beforehand or bring a printed image of what you’d like to make.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003chr class=\"my-6 border-border\" data-streamdown=\"horizontal-rule\"\u003e\n\u003ch2 class=\"mt-6 mb-2 font-semibold text-2xl\" data-streamdown=\"heading-2\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"font-semibold\" data-streamdown=\"strong\"\u003eA small note\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI have a dog who is very sweet, gentle and calm.
