About Me

Me, Ina Dyreborg, sitting in my sofa in the living room looking at a magazine opened to an article about myself. A floor rug of a feline with human breasts lies on the floor, with a leaf in the crotch. The leaf is from Bo Bedre magazine, it's a comment on their colorless magazine, as it's mainly pink, blue and fox red. The rug is tufted in wool, with a Danella needle. The sofa I'm sitting in is cobalt blue and the color on the wall is earth-toned, there are also many pictures and other objects hanging on the wall behind me. There's also a glass coffee table and a green plant

My name is Ina G. Dyreborg and I'm the textile artist behind this colorful universe!

I am a self taught tufting artist with a background in clothing, product development, urban development, cultural work and design strategy. I have a Bachelor in Living Design from Kea Design and Business.

I started my tufting journey in 2014 when I wanted a rug but couldn't find anything that was right for me, and after a long search the idea of creating it myself began to manifest itself. I started looking for ways to make rugs and it was the Danella needle, a small hand held tool, that helped start my journey as a textile artist.

From there it was about getting to know the tool, exploring its possibilities and limitations and refining my technique. I tested  yarn types and canvases for the tufting until I found the materials that suited my style and temper.

For me, it was important from the start that the my pieces, should inspire and make you want to explore the tactile surface. The mirrors helped to create a good contrast. There is something poetic about the hard versus soft, and the mirror that captures the light and provides space along with the rtufted piece that swallows sounds and creates a sense of calmness.

My universe is colorful and full of humor and vitality.
